i-mate - SP4mThe imate SP4m may not be easily recognised. But check this out, its the same thing that you would also know as the O2 XDA phone (do not confuse it with the original XDA). Manufactured by HTC, different providers call it by different names. This tri-band GSM handset does not suffer from any complexes. It is a sturdy candybar handset and features some additional keys which are expected to make life easier for the user. Keypads continue to evolve by adding keys for functions which have become extremely important and which now demand a dedicated button. For the most part, the i-mate SP4m is pretty normal. However it manages to fit in keys for "home" and "back" for people who love surfing the web on their handies. In addition there is an "Internet explorer" key which directly connects to the net and opens up the explorer for browsing. Media controls such as previous track, next track , pause / play have also managed to land themselves dedicated keys.
Of course its not just the keypad but the Operating system that is the real heart of the cool features that the SP4m gives us. Like in other fields, Windows may have start out late but they are making amends with their easy User Interface and excellent functionality. The i-mate SP4m operates on Windows Mobile version 5.0. It comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera which can capture video as well. Operated by a 195 Mhz processor (OMAP 850 from Texas Instruments) and complemented by 64 megabytes RAM / 64 megabytes ROM. With several features such as an Mp3 player, mini USB port , Bluetooth and WAP; no one can challenge the SP4m for being just another ordinary handset. With all of this packed into just 100 grams; the SP4m is a great buy.
