For a while now, many handset manufacturers have been putting VGA resolution cameras in their low- and mid-range handsets. With the price of camera modules these days, there really is no excuse for this, and it is nice to see Sony Ericsson placing a 1.3 megapixel camera into a budget handset.
The Sony Ericsson K510 is not the most exciting in the way of features, but does cover many bases. In addition to the aforementioned 1.3 megapixel camera, the K510 has a 262k color display, Bluetooth, and a full HTML compatible browser. The handset is graced with 28MB of on board memory for storing pictures and other media, and users can play with pictures taken with the camera using effects such as Face Warp.
The Sony Ericsson K510 will be available in three versions - the K510i for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific, the K510c for mainland China, and the K510a for the Americas - the latter including the 850MHz band in favor of 900MHz.Specifications for the Sony Ericsson K510
