Sendo - K1Sendo K1 Overview
The Sendo K1 is another candy bar design from Sendo. The 65,000 color display with a dual band GSM handset is something that will gladden the hearts of consumers looking for decent value for money. “Sendo has recognised that removing usability and cost barriers will enable our customers to reduce in store cost of sale time as consumers just switch on and go. The Sendo K1 combination offers the first affordable Bluetooth combination that is truly easy to use, providing Sendo customers with a real advantage,” said Ron Schaeffer, Director of Product Management for Sendo.
The Sendo K1’s Bluetooth combination features extensive profile support for voice and object transfer, and Bluetooth V1.2 support for superior voice quality and less interference. Apparently the phone will ship with a bluetooth headset, something that has not been attempted before. Bluetooth headsets are popular but consumers have a hard time configuring the same to work with their handsets. Shipping one alongside takes care of all these problems and since the cost is included along with the package, it makes the user doubly happy.
Besides the bluetooth advantage, the design of the Sendo K1 holds no surprises. The keypad has tightly integrated keys and features a nice design quite different from the usual one. Again the fact that the K1 is meant for the masses and attempts to bring them bluetooth at a low cost, is very apparent since once you get over the headset thing, there is very little to hold he attention. There are no major features that the K1 can boast of, it doesnt have any memory card or Infra red port not even a USB. Bluetooth comes to the rescue again. It is not clear whether the phone will support Java Midlets either. However the less number of features do have a benefit, the battery lasts much longer. Sendo says that for its size, the performance is class leading with talk time at an impressive three to seven hours and standby time of 200 to 400 hours.
Expect the Sendo K1 to be available by the third quarter of 2005. |
