Sagem - MY V-55Sagem MY V-55
Manufacturer: Sagem / Type: Mobile Phone / Digital Camera: Integrated / HSCSD: No / GPRS: Yes / UMTS: No
Advantages Good camera, Excellent reception, Can get a very good Vodafone contract with it!
Disadvantages Can make calls on its own, dammit!
A mere four months ago, I was the proud owner of an old banged up and soon-to-be defunct Nokia 3210. To me, if a mobile made calls and sent messages without any glitches, it was a damn good phone. Imagine my suprise then, when my contract expired and the company sent me out not only a new contract, but a new mobile entirely. Voila! I was now the owner of the semi-new Sagem V-55!
Although this mobile is not the most flashy or powerful mobile on the market, it's definitely a really good buy. Good features include:
- a nifty colour screen with some nice background settings to choose from (bear in mind my old phone was basically black on different black screen!)
- the camera on this phone is one of the better ones. A good few of my friends have better and more powerful phones, yet my camera takes far superior pictures. The colour is admittedly not perfect, but the photos are always clear and precise, unless of course the doof you're photographing moves!
- as a vodafone mobile, it's reception is excellent. The only time my reception lowers is when I'm on the underground, but such is the case with EVERY mobile
- there are really good games on this mobile with colour screen and great graphics, you feel like you're playing an actual computer game!
- internet connection on this mobile is excellent. Other mobiles tend to take a long time to connect, and when they do they are difficult to navigate. The connection on the V-55, however, is very fast, and once you're connected there's an easy-to-use menu
- V-55 is an attractive phone. It may not be as small as some, but it's slimline design and silver on black cover is very nice, in my opinion!
There are, however, some drawbacks to this mobile. Although it's not a drastic problem, I have found a good few times that the mobile has somehow managed to take itself out of the 'locked' state whilst in my bag, meaning I've either been unwittingly connected to the internet for a while, or my mobile has made phone calls! Also, you can't store a massive amount of text messages, so if you're sentimental, you'll dread deleting messages in order to recieve new ones!
All in all though, the V-55 is a very good phone. It's not without it's faults, but it does its job. It has a really good reception, games and internet connection. Not forgetting, it's a nice-looking mobile!
With Vodafone you can get this phone for 'free', with a bill of £16 per month. This contract includes 25 free cross-network minutes and 50 free text messages, all of which I think is pretty decent! |
