Nokia - 2310Nokia Launches 2310 for Emerging Markets
Today in China Nokia rolled out the new 2310 for emerging markets. The dual-band GSM 900/1800 device will be available for purchase for only 65EUR before subsidies, but still includes such features as a 65k color display and a built-in FM radio. The radio can be accessed with a dedicated button, and when playing, the radio's "sound visualization" system will display graphics that change in sync with the music. The 2310 will also be capable of playing what Nokia calls "MP3-grade" polyphonic ringtones.
The 2310 has a number of features that are targeted at the text messaging crowd. There is storage space for up to 60 SMS messages built into the phone as well as support for storing up to another 60 on the SIM card. An undo function in the editor can reclaim messages that have been accidentally deleted, as well. In addition to SMS distribution lists, the Nokia 2310 also supports SMS speed dialing.
Support for Nokia's Prepaid Tracker system will allow users to get updates of their prepaid balances after calls in networks that support the feature. The 2310 measures 105mm x 44mm x 19mm (4.1" x 1.7" x .7") and weighs 85g (3oz). Its battery should be good for up to 6 hours of talk time or 16 days of standby time, according to the company.
Nokia expects the 2310 to be available in Q3 of this year. |
