Nokia - 1112Nokia Offers New 1112 at Under 50 Euros
Today in Chongqing, China, Nokia introduced three new handsets for the world's emerging markets. The Nokia 1112, pictured above, has its emphasis on ease of use and is to a large extent a 1110 with a new display. It uses a simple icon based UI as well as large fonts. Like some prior Nokia handsets for emerging markets, the 1112 has a demo mode that will show novice users the ins and outs of the device. The demo mode also works without a SIM card in order to allow potential buyers to get a better feel for the phone before they have to lay down their money to buy one.
The 1112 weighs 80g (2.8oz), measures 104mm x 44mm x 17mm (4.1" x 1.7" x .7"), and has a battery that should be good for 5 hours of talk time or up to 15 days of standby time. It has features that include a Speaking Clock and an Alarm, as well as some pre-installed games. The 1112 will be available in two different dual-band configurations that should be able to work in any of the various world GSM markets.
The 1112 will be available in a number of different colors and should retail for the extremely low price of 45 EUR - before taxes and any carrier subsidies. Nokia expects the 1112 to be available for purchase in Q2 of this year in "all regions" except for, ironically, China. |
