NEC - e228NEC e228
NEC has been churning out 3G handsets for global 3G operator Three for almost one and a half year now and has significantly improved the capabilities of their handsets over that time. Their latest handset is the e228 and is designed for low-end 3G users. It features dual cameras for videotalk, TFT display, support for audio and video playback, and 19MB of internal memory as well as a Memory Stick Duo card slot.
Like all 3 video-mobiles by NEC, the e228 is constantly connected to the Internet and can synchronize completely with Outlook Calendar and other PC applications, something which many other manufacturers still haven't mastered. The e228 is the first low-end handset we've seen with a memory card slot and this will enable more people to use their phone as a MP3 player.
The NEC e228 will be available in Europe and Asia on Hutchison's 3 network. The e228 will be released in Q4 this year according to NEC.
