Motorola - A910Motorola Launches WiFi UMA Capable A910
Today Motorola launched their new WLAN capable handset, the Linux/Java based A910. The A910 is a UMA compliant GSM/GPRS mobile phone that can link up with home and office based WiFi/WLAN networks to offer land line like capability by interfacing with carrier based VOIP networks.
The handset itself has a 1.3 megapixel digital camera on board that is capable of both still photo and video capture. Video playback support includes 3GPP streaming as well as the playing of non-streamed clips as they are being downloaded. The A910 also has a TransFlash/microSD memory card slot and the ability to play a number of music file formats in 3D stereo.
Other highlights include Bluetooth support and a speaker independent voice dialing system, such as that found on the Motorola V710 and others. The A910 will also support Motorola's new MOTOSYNC system that allows it to interface with Microsoft's Activesync system for synching with both your desktop computer as well as corporate servers.
Motorola expects the A910 to ship in Q1 of 2006. |
