Maxon - MX-3204Maxon MX-3204
Advantages cheap
Disadvantages few ringtones
I got the Vodafone MN-1, Maxon 3204.
It is a very useful phone. It doesn't have all the great gadgets like the internet WAP, or all the ringtones in the world but those are for posers anyway ( you know who you are!)
It is extremely easy to use, once turned on all you need to do is press the menu button and you have a full view of you options, you dont always have to press right 5 or 6 times just to find a number.
it is on the vodafone network so it get a extremely good reception and connection.
This is a good phone if you are one of the people that are hesitant to get a phone to begin with.
'It does the job' so to speak.
Disavantages are that it is quite large in comparison to many newer phones, ( you have to watch where you put it ( I smashed my screen), and the battery will need charging quite often.
Advantages Cheap
Disadvantages Tacky looking display, low battery life
This is an alright phone. It really isn't very special, it just does a job and nothing else. My major gripe is the display, it looks very dated and eighties-like. Saying that it is easy to use.
The battery life isn't great, it needs recharged every night. The ringtones aren't great either, their are a series of very annoying beeps. They sound awful when they are turned up loud.
As it's cheap I'll forgive it but if you can afford better, go for it! Mobiles are coming down in price all the time and for all the extra money it costs, you'll appreciate it.
Advantages Simple, Good Battery life.
Disadvantages Limited Functions
I bougth this phone over seven years ago and still use it to this day. OK it may have a black and white screen and can't take photos and is only dual band - but sometimes simple is best.
The phone does text messaging though it doesn't have predictive text (or T9) so its a bit tedious when it comes to typing longer texts.
You can't download any ring tones for it and the ones that are on there are mono ones. They aren't bad but some of them are rather cheesy!
The display is clear and there are plenty of bars to indicate signal strength (not like some of these modern ones).
The phone will charge from flat in about 30 mins and the battery life is excellent considering when it was made.
I've just upgraded and will pass this phone on to my old parents who no doubt will be able to use this with much ease. These make excellent bargains second hand and are just the thing you could use as a 'disposable phone' ie. if its lost or stolen.
It picks up signals well and the call quality is good too though the ear piece is a little on the quiet side. It is rather heavy but bear in mind the thing is over seven years old and technology has moven on somewhat.
Well recommended!
Summary: Excellent phone, simple to use, lacking in modern features.
