Ericsson - T18sEricsson T18s
Advantages Good looking, Good sound quality, Vibrate Function
Disadvantages Small keypad buttons, Quite heavy, Non-predicitive texting
I've owned this phone for some time now, and I have to say that it is a good phone, but it is also a phone that has pros and cons that equal each other. So, when making the decision whether to buy this phone or not, i had to come to realise that the phone i was buying was not one I would be able to show off too much, but more a phone that's main purpose is to be a mobile phone, unlike many of the phones available today.
The phone's Pros
The phone's packed full of features. Its got voice-dialing, voice answering (where you just have to say hello for it to answer the call for you), vibrate function, and all the other 'standard' functions. It also has a sweet little flip on it which saves you from having to put the keylock on all the time. This is especially useful for people like me who seem to spend all their credit by sitting on the phone!!
The phone's Cons
The phone has a few cons, and as i said they roughly equal the pros. The problem that a lot of people have picked up on is the fact that the buttons on the keypad are very small, and hence you can sometimes lose your grip on the things, and completely mess up a number or a text. Talking of texts, the phone doesn't have predicitive text, and so it can sometimes take ages to write one text. The phone looks small, and it is, but it is also quite heavy, and can rival some of the 'brick' phones that are around. Also, the phone has a battery life that only lasts a couple of days, so for any busy person this can be quite annoying at times.
Overall, this phone is a quality bit of kit for anyone who wants a mobile phone. Anyone who wants a PC, games console, notebook, tea-maker and phone all in one- this isn't for you.
Advantages Looks alright
Disadvantages Many
Having got a t18s last September I first thought it was quality. However I did not count one the fact that it would become outdated quite so quickly. Basically within a month of getting it the new Ericsson came out, Nokia start selling brand new phones, and so I'm left with a phone that now actually isn't very good.
1. The screen is so small, therefore no games, text messaging is a pain, you can't see all of the message.
2. Its actually a lot heavy compared to the newer phones.
3. The flip down lid is fragile, I don't know how mines stayed intact, although I've seen a lot that have broken.
4. The reception is appalling. My Union bar is basically underground, sort of, everyone else gets reception apart from me. Not only that if I go outside to get reception I look like Dr Spock with his tricorder desperately swinging the thing round in the air trying to get reception.
5. The screen scrates easily and somehow has managed to aquired little white blobs inside it, what these are I don't know, where they came from is anyones guess.
All in all I'm not impressed especially as if I had waited I could have got the T28, however even that has apparently the highest radiation levels. Waht are you up to Ericsson?
Advantages overall it is a good all round mobile with class
Disadvantages not enough features and the design should be more updated
Want a versatile, easy to use phone that can keep you in touch with people all over the world – then the Ericsson T18s is the phone for you. The T18s is a dual band phone weighing only 146g and has a flip key cover that hides all the main buttons when closed. The flip is used to answer calls and hang up.
The T18s enables you to assign different ring tones to 10 different incoming callers and it can also memorise the last 30 dialed, missed or answered calls.
The T18s will also store 15 text messages for you. With a built-in clock with alarm function, calculator and many more features the Ericsson T18s is a very attractive package indeed.
The Ercsson T18 has many advantages such as the alarm function, the calculator and the flip key cover, but then again nowadays these features are expected with mobile, thats why i think that even though the T18 is a very good mobile, it doesn't stand out from the 3310's and 3210's, to show that it is different.
The disadvantages with all mobile (Ericssons) is that i think and i know that most people think they are old looking and not very modern which for nowadays is a absolute 'need'.
Thats why, if you look about you most teenagers and young people will have Nokia's as all us teenagers think they look 'cool' and modern.
Even though the T18 is a good mobile, i don't think there is nothing special to the mobile that would persuade me to buy it as there are better mobiles available at relatively the same price.
Personally i would not buy the T18 as its not the mobile for me, as i would expect more from a mobile in personalisation features and ability.
Then again though the T18 is a good mobile and would probably be better for someone who uses their mobile in business.
Overall though, it is a really good mobile and has all the class required of a mobile. |
