Description: BlackBerry’s Java-based 6230 model offers a smaller and lighter body than previous incarnations of this wireless handheld as well as upgrades to memory for greater data storage. E-mail and SMS improvements, such as wireless email synchronization and integrated attachment viewing, combined with the wireless services that BlackBerry users are already accustomed to--a phone, a Web browser, and organizer applications--round out the 6230’s offerings. The phone operates on 900/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS wireless networks, allowing for international roaming among North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
The BlackBerry 6230 is powered by a 32-bit microprocessor and uses an embedded RIM wireless modem. It offers 16 MB of flash memory plus 2 MB of SRAM for storage. The thumb-operated trackwheel and backlit QWERTY keyboard make messaging quick and easy. The BlackBerry 6210 also has an easy-to-read screen with an intuitive icon-based menu and a display that can be set by the user to 8, 10, 12, or 15 lines. A keyboard lock and password protection are included for security. BlackBerry Desktop Software is included to manage the exchange between the user’s email account on a desktop PC and the 6230. The BlackBerry 6210 also comes with a USB cable for charging and synchronizing with a PC and a travel charger as well as a swivel holster and handheld stand. This compact BlackBerry handheld measures 4.4 by 2.9 by 0.8 inches and weighs 4.8 ounces. Its rechargeable Lithium-ion battery is rated at 5 hours of talk time and 12 days of standby time.
