Asus - P525The ASUS P525 is a handheld device with a numeric keypad and a touchscreen, which makes it possible to use just like any other mobile phone. It also offers a simple and sleek design with a gray exterior combined with brushed metal and plastic. This all blends in nicely with the indented buttons found on the sides of the device. At the same time, the mobile phone is quite sturdy and capable of withstanding every day abuses. With the dark external casing that comes with the phone, it can be kept even better protected.
The ASUS P25 is also a light devise, weighing in at 159.5 grams and measuring 116.8 x 59 x 19mm. As a result, it fits nicely into bags, but can be a bit bulky for pockets. It does come with a waist pouch, however, that attaches easily to a belt. This makes it possible to keep the mobile phone within easy reach while staying out of the way.
The buttons on the ASUS P525 are designed in a manner that allows for complete access with just one hand. The sides of the handheld contain buttons for voice messaging, the camera function, rest, power, and volume control. It also offers a hold, or keylock, switch that can be activated in order to prevent accidentally pressing number keys when placing the mobile phone in its pouch.
The mobile phone also features a joystick within the number keypad, making it easier to navigate. The buttons make a noise each time they are pressed, which can be a bit distracting to some users.
By utilizing a number keypad rather than a QWERTY thumbboard, the ASUS P525 was able to include a 7.1 cm QVGA LCD screen, though it only supports 16-bit color. The back of the display includes a 2-megapixel camera that contains autofocus. It also has a flashlight and is capable of shooting pictures of up to 1,600 x 1,200 pixels. It can also take video clips with a resolution of up to 176 x 144 pixels. The camera includes macro, filter effects, white balance, and preset scene modes.
The ASUS P525 includes a number of features, including infrared, quadband GSM support, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 1.1, ad Wi-Fi. It does not contain 3G, however, which can be problematic for some users. The device can be synched with a PC through the USB or through Bluetooth. With Intel Xscale 416MHz processing, it is fairly fast but quickly becoming outdated by newer models on the market. The ASUS P525 also offers 64MB Ram and 128 MB ROM.
The mobile phone does come with the latest version of Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone addition. As a result, it is capable of performing push e-mail. It also comes with a Skype installation CD to help enhance the VoIP capabilities. For a busy businessperson, the ASUS P525 makes for a good selection. The updated and more current model, the ASUS P535, has a faster processor and a few changed features that might make it a better option. |
