Reviews
This Alcatel One-Touch dB Easy mobile phone isn't 'sexy', it's cute. A good basic phone that does all I ask of it (if you want a multitude of tunes, buy an MP3 player!). Outstanding standby time (I charge it once a week for around 45 mins). I've dropped it several times and apart from minor marks on the casing, it shows no signs of damage. Not tiny, but feels good in the hand. ...
The Alcatel OTE DB was my first mobile phone, two years ago. I was extremley pleased of it at first, for the standby time was exceeding 6 days, and the recharge time was about 1-2h. Then, one day, while in a mountain trip, i fell in a river and the phone got 'fishy'. After that, i dried it in the sun, and started it as nothing happened, but the standby reduced to 2-3 days :( After a month or two, the phone suddendly refused to start after a recharge. As it was still in the waranty period, they gave me another, wich worked like new. Then came a party, I got drunk and played football with the phone. Nothing bad happened to it. Then came the Easter, and i got drunk again, and because i had a hatered for that phone, i hit it on the table several times, holding it by the antenna, and again nothing happened. And one day, after a couple of weeks, it stoped defenetley. As it was no longer in waranty, i sold it to a sucker :)) for 20$ (the mainboard was fu__ed-up). Then i had a 5110, a motorola v3588, an ericsson 788, an t10, a siemens sl10 and now i have a siemens m35i, wich i intend to trade for a ericsson r320s.
What I ment is that the Alcatel OTE DB is a fine phone for the first users, and/or ladies, but for the 3 months or so of his lifetime. I have a lot of friends who reported battery or soft failure in short time, meaning the small standby time.
Attention! As i know, it is only one version of sft available for this phone, so it was never updated. The failure consists in showing the battery meter half or more, and if you make a call, it switches off. |
