Design
Heavily influenced by classic Alcatel design in areas of shape, colour and design, weighing in at 98 g and measuring 101 x 49 x 22 mm, the OneTouch 156 is petite and relatively lightweight. The 4096-color display is dim, not very bright and crisp, but is a far step above the very dim 256-color versions on even the most recent Alcatel models.The display resolution 101 x 80 pixel is not very high but is normal for low class phone.
The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker.There is nice LEDs which notify users of new messages, active network and missed calls. This is not common for all Alcatel handsets and is not necessary to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting.
Ergonomics
The OneTouch 156 is comfortable to hold and lies well in ones hand.A numerical keypad placed below offers appropriately-spaced keys and are pleasantly comfortable in use.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Alcatel handsets.The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the comfortable center keys, make the phone easer to dial.Its keypad is as pleasing in use as its chassis is on the eyes: tactile feedback is excellent and all buttons are placed in a logical manner - quite a feat, considering OneTouch 156's knack for quirky keypads.And last,but not least, a four-way navigation buttons centered below the display.
